DocuLex, a recognized leader in document imaging software, and dtSearch announce the addition of the DocuLex Search product line powered by dtSearch to DocuLex's solutions for converting paper documents to electronic files. The addition of DocuLex Search will allow DocuLex users to instantly locate document imaged electronic files, through both full-text and fielded data searching.

DocuLex's imaging and document capture product line provides an integrated scanning and PDF conversion solution in one package. This document capture program offers the tools required to achieve image processing, with custom file naming and user-defined meta field creation. For example, a user could scan and OCR a document into a PDF Image + Text option, providing a compressed archival image identical to the original paper with OCR'ed text hidden behind the image in a full-text searchable document.

Supplementing the handful of fields pre-provided by the PDF format, DocuLex also makes available dozens of additional custom fields for its users. DocuLex Search fully supports these fields. "We initially looked at dtSearch because it could read our custom PDF fields," said David Bailey, VP Sales & Technical Development at DocuLex. "Our staff was then astounded by how quickly dtSearch indexed--and then searched. And PDF display has been fantastic, including online."
